THE SINGLE UNIVERSAL ALLOWANCE

The universal single check is coming which will guarantee direct support to families with children, the measure will come into force in July for the self-employed and the unemployed, while it is expected that in 2022 it will also be extended to all other workers.
The Prime Minister announces the certainty of the single universal allowance, defining it as a measure that cannot currently be waived. Following the publication of the Delegation Law of 1 April 2021, no. 46, the introduction times have been defined, in fact, the measure in question will be available from 1 July 2021 for every self-employed worker and for the unemployed, and from 1 January 2022 it will be extended to all other workers. In relation to the above, it is important to remember that the single universal allowance was introduced with the Family Act, approved on 11 June 2020 by the Council of Ministers. In his presentation, the Prime Minister pays particular attention to the importance of a measure that gives support and incentives to building a family. In Italy, couples would like to have two children on average, but in reality, according to statistics, they have 1.24. To decide to have children, as the Premier has already repeated on other occasions, young people need three elements: a job of course, a house, and a welfare system and childcare services. In our country, unfortunately, we are behind on these factors and young people struggle to find work, thus failing to achieve their independence. The government's commitment aims to build a new Italy and, in this case, with the adoption of new social policies, it aims to support couples and young women. The total resources in the budget amount to over 21 billion euros, and constitute an opportunity for rebirth if exploited in the right way. "An Italy without children is an Italy that has no place for the future, it is an Italy that slowly ceases to exist" - with these words the Chief Executive underlines his position and that of the Italian government. The focus lies on the economic and social recovery of the country, in the perception and development of every single positive aspect, also and above all for families, who need to restart.
